What is a Marriage and Family Therapist?
A Marriage and Family Therapist is a licensed psychotherapist who is trained to assist children, families, couples and individuals understand and revolve their problems. Each MFT is licensed by the State of California. Requirements for licensing include a master’s degree and passage of two written examinations along with a minimum of three thousand hours of supervised experience. MFT's are relationship specialists who are trained to assess, diagnose and treat individuals, couples, families and groups to achieve more satisfying and productive relationships.
Do you offer a sliding scale?
I offer a sliding scale and I am happy to help people experiencing financial problems. I am happy to educate people about the many counseling resources that are available in the community. So please feel free to call me, so that together, we will find you the best level of care possible.
Do you accept insurance?
If you are permitted by your insurance plan to work with someone outside your network, I am happy to submit claims electronically and contact the insurance company on your behalf.
Do you have virtual session online?
Yes, I offer virtual online therapy sessions to anyone in the great State of California.

There are exceptions to this and these include suspected child, dependent adult or elder abuse. If a client is suicidal or homicidal, marriage and family counselors must break confidentiality and get help.
